On October 2007 for the first time in Europe ATBM Firings were conducted at NAMFI. They were successfully conducted by Germany and The Netherlands with PATRIOT missiles against the STAR Ballistic drone, which was launched from a 150 KM distance. Since then tactical antiballistic firings with the in mind weapon system are executed on annual basis until today by the above mentioned countries. Additionally, in 2008 NAMFI hosted an American Air Defense Unit for the execution of the specific type of firing. NAMFI at the moment has the unique guided missile range in Europe, that has the ability to conduct antiballistic firings with Patriot weapon system.
