Since 1966 evaluated Tactical Firings are conducted at NAMFI by fully trained and combat-ready Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) Units, in accordance with ACE Directive 80-2 of SHAPE.

Tactical Firings, either using multi- Weapon System environment or a stand-alone configuration are conducted at NAMFI by GBAD Units:

• NAMFI’s User-Countries
• Any other NATO’s Nation member after approval of NAMFI’s User Nations Committee.
• Any other Non NATO’s Nation after approval of:

          1) NAMFI’s User Nations Committee

The conduction of Tactical Firings in a realistic combat environment, reflects the doctrine “Train as you fight” and extents to the maximum the interoperability and operational capability of integrated Air Defense Systems / Units.

During Tactical Firings NAMFI is:

• The only worldwide firing-Installation where six (6) target drones can be fly simultaneously.
• One of the two worldwide Firing Ranges  where tactical firings are conducted by G/M PATRIOT units, including scenarios of confronting simultaneous multiple air threats (up to 6 tele-guided targets, as a simulating threat)  and intercepting Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBM) that have been launched from a long distance.
