Commander Panagiotis Kallergis SC, HN was born in 1963 in Piraeus, where he completed his secondary education.

He was admitted to Hellenic Naval Academy in 1989 as Financial Officer, graduated in 1990 and was commissioned as Ensign in the Financial Branch.

He was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade in 1992 and to Lieutenant in 1997.

As a junior Officer he has served in two ships for five years and in various services of the Hellenic Navy as a supply/financial officer.

He graduated the Hellenic Navy Staff College in 2002 and he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in the same year.  In 2009 he was promoted to Commander and he was appointed to Navy Supply Center.  In October 2010 he was appointed at NAMFI as Chief of the UNAC Coordination, Marketing & P.R. Office.

Cdr Kallergis has followed successfully the following courses in the USA:

• Logistics Executive Development Course (US Army Logistics Management College)
• Transportation of Hazardous Materials, International Officers Supply Course, Principles of Inventory Control, Transportation Management Introduction, Warehouse Operations Management (US Navy Supply Corps School),
• International Defense Management Course (Defense Resources Management Institute)

He has received the following Degrees:

• Degree in Economics from Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.
• MsC in Management/Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology, USA.

Cdr Kallergis is married with Ariadne and the couple has two children, Eva (16) and Petros (12). His hobbies include reading and small game hunting.
