During a modest ceremony, in front of German and Greek forces, took place on Monday the 6th of November 2017 the unveiling of the gravestone in memory of the fallen Germans that lost their lives in the air accident on the 9th of February 1975 on the White Mountains.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Commander of the Ground based Air Force Forces, Brigadier General Mr. GSCHOβMANN and the Commander of NAMFI Brigadier General Mr. Anastasios GKOUMAS, who honored the memory of the fallen.
As was mentioned in the greeting speech of the Commander of NAMFI Brigadier General Mr. Anastasios GKOUMAS “The renovation of this monument is very important, as it is our obligation to remember all those who gave their lives on duty and not only as an honor but as a contribution to NAMFI”.
