Meeting of the SHAPE Base Support Group (BSG) Security and Emergency Services (SES) Community of Interest (COI) C-UAS Working Group (WG) I/2026 at the NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI)

From 28 to 30 July 2026, the NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) hosted the SHAPE BSG SES COI C-UAS WG I/2026 meeting.

The BSG SES COI C-UAS WG is a NATO Working Group responsible for coordinating efforts, exchanging expertise, and developing guidance in the field of Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS). During the meeting, participants addressed emerging threats posed by unmanned aerial systems, reviewed the latest developments in drone detection, identification, and neutralization technologies, and discussed the development of common procedures and operational capabilities aimed at enhancing the protection of personnel, facilities, and critical infrastructure.

The successful hosting of this meeting highlights the strong cooperation between NAMFI and SHAPE, while reaffirming NAMFI’s important role in supporting Allied activities, that strengthen operational readiness and enhance capabilities to address the evolving challenges posed by unmanned aerial systems.
